I thought I would post a New Orleans themed drink to celebrate the beginning of Mardi Gras. The actual Mardi Gras is technically not until Tuesday the 21st, hence the name Fat Tuesday. However, the celebration starts the weekend (sometimes the week) leading up to Fat Tuesday. So let’s get this party started with a delowcious cajun style cocktail. You don’t get much more N’awlins than a Hurricane. Thankfully this one won’t wash your house away… It will however, wash your cares away. I thought this recipe would also be fitting to post on the eve of my friend Myra’s wedding. It was in fact a hurricane that brought her and her future hubby together. Myra and I went to SMU in Dallas, and my Hubby and her future hubby went to Tulane in New Orleans. When Hurricane Katrina hit, the Tulane football team was evacuated to SMU. Long story short, they met and quickly fell for each other. The rest is history. Congratulations Myra and Bobby and Happy Mardi Gras!
