I tend not to be a fan of super sweet drinks, which is why this drink is perfect for me. It is everything but sweet. Martinis can be so much fun, because you can truly transform them into so many different types of drinks. They make coffee flavored, chocolate, strawberry cheese cake, sour apple, anything really. However, this is the first time I have seen a martini garnished with a jalapeno, and I like it.
- Neelys’ Dry Rub, recipe follows
- 5 drops hot sauce
- 4 ounces vodka
- 2 ounces olive juice
- 1 jalapeno pepper, sliced in ½
Neelys’ Dry Rub:
- 4 ounces paprika
- 2 ounces white sugar
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
Dip rim of martini glass into water. Rim with Neelys’ Dry Rub.
Add vodka, olive juice and hot sauce to chilled shaker. Shake well. Pour into glasses. Garnish with a slice of jalapeno.
