Pink Lemonade Margarita

Ingredients

  • 1 (12 ounce) can of frozen pink lemonade concentrate, thawed
  • 3 (12  ounce) cans of cold water – (just use the empty pink lemonade can)
  • 1 (12 ounce) can of tequila
  • ½ (12 ounce) can of Grand Marnier
  • Ice cubes – (I like to use crushed ice)
  • Salt to rim the glasses
  • 1 lime, wedged

Directions

  1. Pour the (thawed) frozen lemonade concentrate into a pitcher, and fill the can with cold water.
  2. Pour into the pitcher and repeat twice for a total of 3 cans of water.
  3. Fill the can with tequila, and pour that into the pitcher.
  4. Fill about half of the can with Grand Marnier, and pour it into the pitcher.
  5. Chill in the fridge for at least an hour before serving. Or blend mixture with ice to make a frozen version.
  6. Serve over ice in salt-rimmed glasses with a lime wedge!

Notes: You can also get the same delowcious looking effect with a grapefruit version from The Barefoot Contessa via There Goes My Cupcake. So whichever way your taste buds pull you, your drink will still look amazing!

    Hi

    Incredibly yummy, thanks!

Could you let me know where the glasses are from, so I can complete the look?

    Jen

    • Hey Jenny! Not sure where these specific glasses are from, but stemless wine glasses are widely available by many different brands and vendors nowadays. My favorite that I have found are Riedel.

    • Jen I bought some glasses like this at WalMart – they are stemless red wine glasses. About $5 for a set of four. Love them. Target also has some VERY good quality ones, but you pay a lot more.

  4. I’m just curious if you added a little food coloring to get that beautiful color! I made this last night, and it was nowhere near as pretty as yours!!

Can you leave out the grand mariner, or do you really need it? We are having it at my daughters wedding.

    • gail korilko says:

Can you subitute grand mariner with something else?

      • Hey Gail,

How fun! I love signature drinks at weddings, especially pink ones. You can try to leave it out all together if you like, or substitute an orange flavored liquor. Hope it turns out well.

  6. Oh my! This looks too divine. I LOVE margaritas and this one looks soooo refreshing. Thanks for sharing!!! 🙂 TD

  7. Do you have to use alcohol in this? (tequila, grand mariner) please reply soon.
    Thanks

    • Hey Maryam!

Nope you can definitely make this without the alcohol. I would just follow the directions on your frozen lemonade concentrate container to make sure you get the ingredient portions right and then you will have tasty pink lemonade. You can still salt the rim and use lime to make it special.

      Enjoy!

    • Keep it up Melissa! There is only one thing I love more than a pink lemonade margarita and that is a Taco Tuesday!

  14. I think this will be my Fourth of July cocktail!

  15. Do you suppose this could be mixed in a small bucket and kept in the freezer to use as a Slushy? Would love to bring this to a reunion soon.
    Judy

    • Hey Judy,

That could be very interesting and worth a try, but I would recommend trying it before the reunion and seeing how it goes. Please update us either way. I am always interested on people’s recipe renditions.

      • I tried this recipe this weekend and to be quite honest I didn’t care for it. Just missed the tangyness of a standard margarita, I guess. Sorry 😦

      • That’s ok Judy. It is not for everyone.

I have to admit I tend to not like most margarita mixes due to being super sweet/sour. I end up adding way more tequila than the recipe calls for to level it out and then I end up a little “unlevel” if you know what I mean. To each their own I guess.

Do you have a favorite margarita recipe you would like to share?!?

  16. Cherie Fifield says:

Just tried this recipe over the weekend — everyone loved it. The Grand Mariner makes it less of a pink color — the first batch I did with water but he second batch I did in the blender and substituted ice for the water plus a couple cans more. Makes it nice and frothy at the top and tastes just as good. We put out both salt and sugar to rim the glasses — but it was just as good without rimming them. Will definitely make this again!

    • Cherie Thanks for sharing! I love hearing how readers’ experiences have been with the recipes I share. So happy everyone liked them!
